Barsom Tire & Auto Repair
Earns AAA Approved Auto Repair Certification

(Whittier, July 13, 2005) — Barsom Tire & Auto Repair, owned by Maritza Eyzaguirre, has earned certification as an Automobile Club of Southern California Approved Auto Repair facility.

The certification means the independent repair facility at 12200 E. Washington, met the Auto Club's strict Approved Auto Repair program criteria for technician certification and customer satisfaction. Auto Club Approved shops also offer a wide range of automotive services and are equipped with the high-tech equipment needed to repair today's sophisticated vehicles.

"The Approved Auto Repair program examines all aspects of a repair shop's operation and awards approval to only the best shops in the business," said the Manager of the Auto Club's Approved Auto Repair Program and Vehicle Inspection Services Richard Kretsch. "Typically, only one out of three shops we evaluate receives certification approval on the first attempt."

Any motorist can look to the Auto Club's Approved Auto Repair logo as an assurance of the facility's reliability, but Auto Club members get extra benefits from approved shops.

These benefits are listed on an Auto Club poster displayed in every Auto Club–approved shop. They include free inspections when a member's vehicle is in the shop for any paid repair and a minimum 12-month/12,000 mile warranty. Auto Club members also get guaranteed written estimates, return of replaced parts on request and Auto Club–mediated repair dispute arbitration.

Barsom Tire & Auto Repair can be reached by calling, (562) 945-2658.

The Automobile Club of Southern California, the largest AAA affiliate, has been serving members since 1900. Today, the Auto Club's members benefit by the organization's roadside assistance service, insurance products and services, travel agency, financial products, automotive pricing, buying and financing, automotive testing and analysis, trip planning services, and highway and transportation safety programs. Information about these products and services is available on the Auto Club's web site at www.aaa-calif.com.

Searching For A Reliable Auto Repair Facility?

Not always easy, is it? Searching for a reliable auto repair facility can be confusing business ... who can you trust? What do you do if something goes wrong? AAA has the answers.

While there are many quality repair facilities, each Approved Auto Repair (AAR) facility is carefully screened and monitored to assure it meets our tough standards and criteria. Sheet metal, paint, glass, and upholstery are not included in the AAR program, although some AAR facilities may offer these services.

The facility listing used in the AAR Online Search is updated regularly. We recommend, however, that when you visit one of these shops, look for the official Approved Auto Repair Sign to be certain it is still part of the AAR Program.

All motorists, whether or not they are AAA members have the following protection provided by the AAR program:

  • High standards - We regularly inspect each AAR facility for compliance with our stringent program standards.
  • Guaranteed repairs - At AAR facilities, parts and labor on mechanical repairs are guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first under normal operating conditions.
  • Reliable repair facilities are not far away - There are over 1,500 AAR facilities in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Utah to serve you!
There is an additional benefit to AAA members when using an AAR facility. AAR facilities have agreed to accept the Auto Club's decision when a member is concerned about the quality of repairs or service.

If you need assistance in resolving a problem about repairs performed by an AAR facility, and a satisfactory solution cannot be reached with the facility management, contact us via e-mail; or if you prefer, call us at 1-800-797-4231, weekdays, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
